Dealer Parts Returns

Parts Returns Policy

• Dealers may return surplus Cummins new and ReCon parts purchased from CSPL.

• An offsetting order is not required.

• Parts must be in saleable condition.

• Superseded parts are eligible for return.

• Returned ReCon items with at current core liability will be credited at full core value from the
oldest existing liability. Dealers may request liability to be relieved on a specific purchase by
noting the invoice number on the return packing slip.

• These items are not eligible for return:
    - Service tools
    - Rubber items (belts, o’rings, etc.)
    - Gaskets
    - Open or resealed kits
    - Chemicals
    - Paint
    - Literature
    - Software
    - Installed or incomplete assemblies or kits

• Credits for returns will be issued at current dealer price less a 10% handling and restocking charge.

• Final credit determination will be given upon items passing physical inspection.

Packaging Requirements

• All items must be clean and free of dirt, grease and rust.

• Returned parts must be in the original packaging.

• Part numbers must be correctly identified and clearly marked or labeled.

• Parts returns must be packaged separately from core returns.

• Dealers may cross dock returns through their local CSPL branch. The return must be packaged for LTL shipment.

• Returns made directly to the Arlington PDC via common carrier should be marked “Prepaid.”

Core Return Program

Core Return Policy

• Cores may be returned to the local Cummins Southern Plains branch or to the Arlington PDC.

• Cores should be packaged to ship via LTL common carrier.

• All returns should be accompanied with a packing slip attached to the shipping box.

• Dealer must resolve all core discrepancies within two business days of being contacted by a Cummins Southern Plains representative.

• Cores deemed unacceptable or incomplete will be handled as follows:
    - Conversion charges will be applied or
    - Core will be returned freight collect to the dealer

• Credit will be issued within 24 hours of receipt and verification at the Arlington PDC.

• At dealer request, Cummins Southern Plains will swap cores against the oldest core liabilities on a “dollar-for-dollar” basis. The swap will be made using current core swap value. Please contact a Cummins Southern Plains representative for more information on this type of swap.

Full Core Acceptance Program

Core will be accepted regardless of condition if visual inspection indicates the following:

• The core component must be a part offered for exchange by ReCon.

• Core must be in “off-engine” condition. This means:
     - There has been no prior attempt at rebuilding the component.
     - The core component is a complete unit and not disassembled in any manner.
     - Core that is damaged by non-operational causes such as rough handling, fire, improper
protection during storage is not acceptable.*
     - Rust that occurs on exterior surfaces of components exposed to weather conditions from normal operating conditions is acceptable. Interior surfaces and components, such as rods, or any machined surface can only have light flash rust. Heavy rust due to improper storage is not acceptable.

* Improper removal, storage or packaging of core could result in the rejection of the component.

• The following components feature Full Core Acceptance:
     - Accessory Drives
     - Solenoids
     - Aftercoolers
     - Starters
     - Alternators
     - Tappets
     - Cam Followers
     - Turbochargers
     - Electronic Control Modules
     - Upper Rockers
     - Fan Drive Idlers
     - Vibration Dampers
     - Injectors-Heavy Duty
     - Water Pumps
     - L10 IOF Kits
     - Water Pump Idlers
     - Weight Carriers
     - Lube Pumps

• Core that does not meet core acceptance standards can be returned to the dealer. Core
acceptance standards are subject to change without notice. An up-to-date core manual is
